OUR STORY

Hello!  We are Tom and Nicole Peake, long term sweethearts and food enthusiasts, along with our fur babies Sonic (our Maltese) and Blaze (our Springer Spaniel). We fell in love with the Catlins just over 8 years ago and are so happy to now present you with our first personal business, Peake's Kitchen gourmet food truck. This focused on more the savoury aspects of meals and learning to operate from a smaller kitchen and outdoor environment. After our initial season of operation at the Papatowai Country Store, we are now able to present a sweeter side with Peake's Treats, focusing on delicious desserts, scooped ice cream sundaes and candy bar.

OUR VISION

We love our food and we felt there was a real need for delicious, clean, gourmet food that will nourish the body and would be able to be enjoyed by all, even if you have some dietary restrictions.

We make as many of our ingredients as possible, grow what we can and collaborate with local specialist producers to receive the quality of product we need.

We also want to minimise our environmental impact and choose to use sustainably sourced packaging and serveware as much as possible that is recyclable and biodegradable.

A FAMILY GATHERING

Tom and Nicole have operated in the hospitality industry from a young age, gaining years of experience and serving many happy guests along the way.

The food truck environment has allowed us to offer a more casual experience and we welcome guests as if they are our personal friends and invite you to embrace your nostalgic side with the addition of classic games at the beautiful 1980s retro Bedford van that we serve from, all while relaxing in an iconic kiwiana setting.
